Study Space for DMS Students (pdf) The following areas are approved study spaces for all medical students. We ask your cooperation in leaving the rooms as you find them by discarding your trash and not removing any books or journals, otherwise the privilege of using these facilities (especially departmental rooms) will be rescinded. DMS - HANOVER 1. Student Lounge - 300 Remsen 2. Dana Biomedical Library The library has approximately 280 study seats at tables and individual carrels distributed on all four floors of the library. Designated carrels are wheelchair accessible. In addition there are some small group study spaces on the 2nd and 3rd floors which can be reserved through the Computing and Media Services desk on the 3rd floor or by calling 650-1663. Unassigned research studies on the basement level may also be used by checking out a key at the main Circulation Desk on the 1st floor. All of these spaces are available during regular library hours. 3. SBM Conference Room - 332 Remsen The SBM Office has a conference room that may be used if it is unoccupied. Please be sure to check the schedule posted near the right-hand door to 332 which will indicate if it has been reserved for use by another department. 4. Pharmacology Conference Room/Library - 615 Vail The Department of Pharmacology has a conference room/library that may be used if it is unoccupied. Students interested in reserving this room should contact the department office at 650-1667. Please note that Pharmacology reserves the right to cancel reservations if the room is needed by the department. 5. Conference rooms at DMS Conference rooms at DMS may be reserved by contacting Edwin Leavitt at 650-2248 or blitzing DMS Registrar @Mac. These rooms include: Butler 210 Kellogg Cafeteria Remsen 226 Vail 614 Chilcott Auditorium Remsen 221 Remsen 227 Vail 607 / 608 Chilcott Lab Remsen 222 Remsen 228 Kellogg Auditorium Remsen 223 Remsen 228 A Vail 701 Regarding the rooms on Remsen 2, the door to 228 A and the 5 main conference rooms (except the viewing room-Remsen 226) should be unlocked 24 hours a day, 7 days a week unless someone has booked the room. If students do find the door(s) locked, they are more than welcome to give DMS Facilities a call (5-1576) and they will unlock the door. Kellogg Auditorium and Chilcott Auditorium are locked from 7 PM to 6:15 AM Monday through Friday, and for the duration on weekends and College-observed holidays. Events, including non-curricular staff or student activities, may be scheduled for these facilities during these times. The facility will be kept open for such purposes as long as the event has been scheduled in advance through the DMS Office of the Registrar (5-2248). Various departments including Safety & Security rely on scheduling information conveyed from the Registrar's office to verify after-hours use of facilities. If either facility is found to be locked when event has been scheduled in advance, the College office of Safety and Security at 646-2234 will arrange to unlock it after verifying the event's inclusion on the official campus-wide listing. Those who use Kellogg & Chilcott Auditoria during evening and weekend hours are responsible for assuring these facilities are kept in good order. While not available to assist after hours, DMS Classroom Support Services (5-1495) needs to be informed of any equipment problems encountered. If food is included as part of an event, please specify this when scheduling the room so that custodians can provide appropriate trash receptacles. At the conclusion of any after-hours program, the general appearance of the room and organization of equipment needs to restored to good order so as to be ready for class instruction the following morning.
