Hanover Diversion Committee

The Hanover Diversion Program pairs teenagers who have been arrested on charges related to drug and alcohol possession with medical student mentors. The student/teen pair spend time together sharing activities such as visiting a local courthouse, attending recovery meetings, watching films, and hiking local trails. A curriculum titled, ÒSubstance Education for TeensÓ (SET) was developed by a DMS student in 2004 which allows the offending student to reflect upon their own drug and alcohol use, as well as that of their peers, and more deeply understand the ramifications of substance abuse.
