"I like the collegiality here. Everyone works together and supports one another. I also like the fact that our patient population is unique compared to most child psychiatry programs out there. This is a very laid back program with an excellent educational exposure."

Comments about the program:
"DHMC welcomed me with open arms. The program has a supportive, unpretentious, community feel that enhances the learning process. DHMC offers the unique ability to train at a world-class facility nestled into one of the most beautiful locations of rural America."

Comments about the program:
"I enjoyed my General Psychiatry training at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical so much that I decided to stay for my Child Psychiatry Fellowship, and this was a great decision. The training is great, and the faculty is second to none. I would recommend DHMC for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Training without reservation."

Comments about the program:
"I unabashedly love this fellowship. I love it because of the people I work with, the training itself, and the life I have living here. The program attracts people who are scholarly and thoughtful as well as warm and personable. They share a curiosity about psychiatry; it's easy to start a book club or movie club or any small group exploring interesting aspects of our field. Training here provides a nice balance of feeling largely independent (e.g. in scheduling and managing our outpatient clinics, which make up the bulk of our training) and still having supervision available whenever needed. Even when no supervision hour is scheduled, it's easy to walk down the hall and ask for a few minutes to run something by an attending or colleague. We have close working relationships, so it's never difficult to trade a call or to cover for one another when needed. It's a very human program. It allows for a robust life outside of residency, which for me includes rowing on a competitive crew team and studying with a psychoanalytic program in Boston. It's beautiful to live in the middle of mountains, lakes and rivers, and easy to get to Boston or New York for the weekend. Even without going to the city, you can get a dose of the arts at Dartmouth College, which has a terrific film program as well as theater, music and dance. For me this fellowship is a perfect fit; I would be delighted to remain here after completing training."
