Department of Psychiatry Faculty Positions
Leadership position in Department of Psychiatry, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center
The department is currently looking to fill the position of Team Leader, Psychiatry Access and Emergency Services, a leadership role with both clinical administrative and direct clinical care responsibilities. This position includes a clinical instructor appointment at Dartmouth Medical School.
Administratively, this person will serve as the leader of the Psychiatry Central Access team, coordinating referrals to the various inpatient, outpatient and emergency clinical services provided by the department, and working closely with the clinical services staff members and department administrative staff. The Team Leader is responsible for supervision of intake and crisis technicians and oversight of day to day operations. The Psychiatry Central Access team is essential to the mission of the psychiatry service. The Team Leader will monitor the service's function in relationship to the Department's mission and actively seek ways to improve processes in an ongoing manner.
Clinically, the team leader serves as a front line clinician for consultation and brief stabilization treatment of psychiatric patients being evaluated on an urgent basis in a variety of clinical settings. Overnight and weekend coverage is not expected. In addition, regular interactions with psychiatry residents, medical students and other mental health trainees afford opportunities for teaching.
The ideal candidate will be a licensed advanced practice nurse (APRN, NP, or CNS) with strong organizational and multi-tasking skills. Previous experience with crisis evaluations is required.
