Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center is Dartmouth's regional academic medical center. It is located on an expansive 225-acre campus in the heart of New Hampshire's Upper Connecticut River Valley. The Department of Psychiatry maintains an outpatient practice on the fifth floor of the Medical Center and manages the hospital's inpatient and partial hospitalization services for psychiatry and addiction.

The Dartmouth Center on Addiction, Recovery and Education develops curriculum materials for undergraduate and medical schools, supports and disseminates student and faculty initiatives that promote healthy lifestyles, conducts research in the field of addiction medicine and provides additional leadership in the fields of substance use education, treatment, medicine and public policy. Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester, NH, is a progressive community mental health center offering a range of treatment and support services for children, adolescents, adults and older adults with mental illness and/or substance abuse disorders.

The National Center for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, White River Junction, VT, is a collaborative program between the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Psychiatry. The Center carries out a broad range of multidisciplinary activities in research, education, and training. These initiatives support efforts to understand, diagnose, and treat PTSD in veterans.

New Hampshire-Dartmouth Psychiatric Research Center, in Lebanon and Concord, NH, is a mental health services research group. This nationally recognized group of investigators conducts and disseminates data on evidenced-based practices for the treatment of mental illness and addiction. The Psychiatry Research Center is a collaborative effort of the Department of Psychiatry and the NH Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Behavioral Health. Dartmouth clinicians and residents are on staff at both locations.

New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services oversees services provided by the Divisions of Elderly and Adult Services, Behavioral Health, and Substance Abuse Services. The Department of Psychiatry at Dartmouth is involved with DHHS at many different levels by providing direct care at various sites, participating in research and planning activities, and through state-supported grants and contracts.

New Hampshire Hospital, Concord, NH, is a major training and research site for the Department of Psychiatry. The hospital treats approximately 1500 individuals annually and provides acute stay, neuropsychiatric, and transitional housing services to children, youth, adult and geriatric populations.

Riverview Psychiatric Center, Augusta, ME is one of Maine's state psychiatric hospital's providing structured supportive treatment for severe and persistent psychiatric disorders. This 100-bed facility operates the state's only forensic unit.

Veterans Administration Hospital, White River Junction, VT, is an active and important component of Dartmouth's Department of Psychiatry teaching and research activities.

West Central Behavioral Health, Lebanon, NH, A regional nonprofit mental health organization, West Central offers outpatient counseling, emergency care, and recovery support to individuals of all ages. It also serves as a training site for Department of Psychiatry residents and interns
