Admission Requirements

We are now accepting applications for Fall 2010 admission. We will accept applications until our January 15, 2010 deadline.

Basic requirements for admission:

Only students who intend to pursue a Ph.D. or M.D.-Ph.D. degree full time will be accepted and could thus become eligible for candidacy for a degree in PEMM. It is the long-standing policy of the College to actively support equality of opportunity for all persons regardless of race or ethnic background, and no student will be denied admission or be otherwise discriminated against because of race, color, sex, religion, age, national or ethnic origin.

Admission to the Program in Experimental & Molecular Medicine is granted by the Graduate School of Dartmouth College upon recommendation of the PEMM Admissions Committee.

After review of completed application materials by the Admissions Committee, selected applicants will be invited for a required on site interview. If you are applying to our program, please hold March 5-6, 2010 open in your schedules for a possible invitation to our annual recruitment weekend at Dartmouth. Offers will be made within two weeks and those offered admission should notify the program of their decision by April 15.

Additional Information for International Applicants
International applications should note that we are unable to reimburse for international travel expenses. On rare occasions, we may be able to interview applicants at an international location if a department faculty member is traveling abroad at an appropriate time.

We will be conducting interviews in the following international locations this year:

Shanghai, China in February 2010. Applicants that wish to be considered for these interviews should have their applications completed no later than December 15, 2009.

Education at Dartmouth thrives in a unique rural community of students and faculty who value differences and promote camaraderie and teamwork in order to learn from one another. PEMM strongly encourages applications from students of diverse backgrounds and cultures. The varied experience and interests they bring strengthens the program and enriches the educational environment for all. Minority applicants are encouraged to identify themselves to PEMM so that additional information can be forwarded.
