New Hampshire Telehealth Program Staff
Louis A. Kazal, Jr., M.D.
Lou Kazal, the NHTP Director, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Community and Family Medicine at Dartmouth Medical School. Prior to coming to New Hampshire in 2002, Dr. Kazal was a Legislative Fellow in the Office of the Honorable Kent Conrad (D-ND), United States Senate, Washington, DC, where he worked on telehealth legislation. He has extensive experience using telemedicine, having served as Clinical Director of a Telemedicine Program at Sage Memorial Hospital in Ganado, Arizona on the Navajo reservation, one of the early sites of the Arizona Telemedicine Program.
David B. Price
David Price, the NHTP Co-Director, coordinates planning and implementation activities for the NH Telehealth Program. Prior to joining the program, he served for three years as director of the transportation initiative for the North Country Health Consortium and helped establish a system of public transportation in the Lancaster-Littleton area. Price serves on the board of Ammonoosuc Community Health Services and chairs its information technology committee. He has been involved with telehealth applications for more than six years.
Rosemary A. Orgren, Ph.D.
Rosemary Orgren, the Director of Development & Evaluation, has held the position of Director of the New Hampshire Area Health Education Center (AHEC) since the Program's inception in 1997. She is also the course director of Dartmouth Medical School's Master of Public Health Field Experience. Dr. Orgren saw the benefit of using technology in healthcare early on, receiving funding for a USDA-RUS Distance Learning and Telemedicine Grant Program in 2000 that provided videoconferencing equipment to several northern New Hampshire community hospitals, health care organizations, and cooperative extension locations statewide.
