2. FACULTY & STAFF
- Leslie Fall and Norman Berman, ped, led a seminar, "National Development and Implementation of a Curriculum-based Computer-assisted Instruction Program in Clinical Education," at the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine's Annual Predoctoral Education Conference in Memphis, Jan. 25-28, to bring their CLIPP (Computer-assisted Learning in Pediatrics Program) model to family medicine educators and students.
- Murray Korc, med, was keynote speaker at the 3rd Annual Agi Hirshberg Symposium on Pancreatic Cancer, Feb. 5, at UCLA, where he discussed recent insights into the pathobiology of pancreatic cancer.
- Catherine Pipas, com and fam med, was appointed vice chair of com and fam med; she was named to the steering committee of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine's "Predoctoral Directors Development Institute," which trains successful predoctoral education directors in family medicine.
3. STUDENTS
- A team of medical and public health students participating in the Dartmouth Rural Health Interest Group's first spring break service trip to work with the Frontier Nursing Service in Kentucky, Mar. 10-18, includes: Ryan Stehr, Isaac W. Howley, Suzanne E. Kellman, Maureen Shyu, Julie A. Zitterkopf, Jennifer A. Brooks, and Sarah Dotters Katz.
- Narath Carlile, med, received an American Medical Association (AMA) Foundation 2007 Leadership Award, one of 55 medical students, residents/fellows, young physicians, and international medical graduate physicians honored as a future leader in organized medicine in ceremonies Feb. 12 in Washington DC.
- Hong Lee, post doc with Jerry Yeo, path, was awarded a Society for Young Clinical Laboratorians 2007 Travel Grant supported by the Van Slyke Foundation to attend the 2007 American Assoc. for Clinical Chemistry annual meeting in San Diego in July.
