- Blair Brooks, medicine, has agreed to serve as chief of the section of general internal medicine, effective immediately.
- William Edwards, pediatrics, has been named a national director of the Vermont-Oxford Network of neonatology research programs.
- John Hwa, pharmacology & toxicology and medicine, is the inaugural recipient of an American Heart Association award for his cardiovascular disease research, presented Jan. 30 at the annual Heart Gala in Nashua, NH.
- Joel Lazar, community & family medicine, is the new section chief of family medicine, effective Feb. 1.
- John Modlin, pediatrics and medicine, has been appointed chair, FDA Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee for a four-year term.
- William A. Nelson, community & family medicine and psychiatry, received the COMISS Medal for his outstanding contributions to health care ethics scholarship, teaching and advocacy in the Veterans Affairs and beyond, presented by the national network of chaplaincy organization at their annual forum Jan. 4, in Alexandria, VA.
- Marcus Shaker, pediatrics and community & family medicine, was elected to the Society for Pediatric Research.
