HANOVER, NH--Dartmouth Medical School graduating students joined more than 16,000 US medical school graduates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) to learn where they will continue their training as residents in U.S. teaching hospitals. Most DMS seniors learned of their match in a ceremony at noon where DMS Dean Stephen P. Spielberg, MD, PhD presented the envelopes to the students. They were among 25,246 applicants from the US and abroad who collectively matched to over 20,000 first- and second-year residency programs, the highest number in the Match's 52-year history. Eight students will remain in New Hampshire to train at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, seven will be in Massachusetts, five in California and three will head to New York. -DMS- |
