Mission Statement
The mission of the New England Center for Emergency Preparedness (NECEP) is to improve emergency response in Northern New England by facilitating the coordination of all-hazards planning and response to mass casualty or other significant events. NECEP provides assistance to state, sub-state regional, and local governments and responders through development of training and education, assistance with planning guidance, and exercise design, evaluation, and after action. NECEP also provides technical assistance via its ability to leverage the applied research and expertise of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC), Dartmouth Medical School, and other graduate institutions such as The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy & Clinical Practice, the Tuck School of Business, and Thayer School of Engineering. NECEP also serves as the coordinating agency for the Northern New England Metropolitan Medical Response System (NNE MMRS), allowing NECEP to garner federal resources in the domain of emergency planning, response, and recovery.
