Seventeenth Annual Neuroscience Day at Dartmouth

The 17th Annual Neuroscience Day at Dartmouth was held on Friday, January 31, 2003 in the Moore Building at the Hanover campus. The day-long event provided an excellent opportunity learn more about the basic and clinical neuroscience research contributions at Dartmouth and the people conducting it. The two poster sessions totaled over 60 presentations which included a broad range of neuroscience related studies being conducted by faculty, postdoctoral researches, graduate and undergraduate students at Dartmouth, both from the College of Arts & Sciences and the Medical School.

A Special Guest Lecture entitled "Neuroinformatics: A New Tool for Neuroscientists" that was presented by Floyd E. Bloom, MD, Chairman of the Department of Neuropharmacology at the Scripps Research Institute.

Participants and attendees were able to meet with Dr. Bloom at a reception which was held immediately following his talk.

In their commitment to encourage, develop and help fund educational initiatives within the neurosciences, Ortho-NcNeil Pharmaceutical provided support to the Neuroscience Center at Dartmouth for the 17th Annual Neuroscience Day at Dartmouth activities. This yearŐs event was organized and planned by the Neuroscience Steering Committee at Dartmouth: Jennifer Groh, faculty coordinator, Barbara Atherton, Joyce DeLeo, William North and David Roberts.
