About Us
The Microbiology and Immunology Department is one of four basic science teaching and research departments at Dartmouth Medical School (DMS) and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC).
Two nationally and internationally recognized interdepartmental research programs, the DMS Immunology Program and the Molecular Pathogenesis Program, are largely comprised of M/I faculty.
All Microbiology and Immunology faculty members participate in either the Molecular Pathogenesis or the DMS Immunology Program and many participate in both. Graduate students and faculty are also affiliated with the interdepartmental Molecular and Cellular Biology [MCB] graduate program.
Our faculty also participate actively in the teaching and research programs at DMS during the first two years of medical school. The department is responsible for teaching immunology, virology, bacteriology and parasitology courses to medical students as well as to undergraduate and graduate students at Dartmouth College.
