ArtCare Gallery, Stained Glass

A work inspired by Mrs. Whitcomb. This was yet another case in point where I continue to learn a great deal from patients. When asked what she might like to see in stained glass for herself and for others to see, she mentioned Red Skelton. Completely ignorant of the identity of this person, I had mistakenly thought she was being grim and wanted a picture of a red skeleton! To my delight, humor, and relief I was entirely mistaken. For Mrs. Whitcomb, Red Skelton epitomizes a great person. A person who is "kind-hearted and humorous. He loves children and loves life." Had Red Skelton worked with ArtCare and the Elder Life Program, I am certain that he would have looked much better than me donning the red coat. In fact, I keep thinking of Patch Adams.
