My work has always concerned itself with the healing power of artistic expression, exploring different aspects of our lives, our inner landscapes and personal symbologies expressed via some form of vessel or container.
I am fascinated by what is contained and what is released within the body and the psyche, what are our conduits for change and enlightenment. Can we refect and locate self within this container as a methaphor for spirit, a nest for growth, pain and resolution. And ultimately, understand and honor the glory of our lives and allow ourselves to be in touch with our inner most feelings.
These works present my quest for awareness through images of the interior body as a location of feeling, so that the equation becomes reflection + locations = SELF. I welcome the viewer to sit in the lap of my convicitons and suspend judgement of the "known" so that they can mediate on "unknowing." It is the letting go of the known wherein lies our power, through darkness that we find the light, and the dance of the transformation which is our healing.
