Professional Interests:

Dr. Cheung's major research interests are regulation of virulence gene in Staphylococcus aureus, a major human pathogen both in the community and in hospital settings. My lab has four separate but related directions: 1) regulation of virulence determinants by global regulatory in S. aureus; 2) expression of virulence genes in vivo; 3) interaction of S. aureus with host cells; 4) development of novel targets for antimicrobial therapy.
