Selected Initiatives

The DARDAR Health Study

• The DARDAR Study is a collaboration between the Section of Infectious Disease and International Health at Dartmouth Medical School and the Muhimbili University College of Health Sciences (MUCHS) in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The study is designed to reduce morbidity and mortality from HIV-associated tuberculosis.

Partnership with Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education

• This collaboration between Dartmouth Medical School and Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at the City College of New York (CCNY) expands opportunities for promising medical students from diverse backgrounds.

Kosovo Projects

• The Kosovo Projects began with faculty and student exchanges between Dartmouth Medical School and the University of Prishtina Medical Faculty shortly after NATO had to step into Kosovo in 1999. The number and types of projects has grown since then to include orthopaedics, obstetrics and gynecology, family medicine in outlying towns, infectious diseases and upgrading the electronic capabilities of the University of Prishtina Medical Faculty library.

The DMS Bridging Program

• The DMS Bridging Program is a special collaboration between the Offices of Alumni Relations and Student Affairs. The Bridging program provides opportunities for medical students to interact and connect with DMS alumni volunteers to benefit from their advice and life experiences.

Dartmouth Community Medical School

• Dartmouth Medical School opened Dartmouth Community Medical School in 1998 to share the excitement of advances in biomedicine and health care with the public. Courses explore the discoveries and technology that are transforming lives as well as contemporary health and medical issues for individuals and society.
