Project Name DARDAR is an acronym for Dartmouth Medical School ("DAR") and the city of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania ("DAR"). The DARDAR Study is a collaboration between the Section of Infectious Disease and International Health, Dartmouth Medical School (New Hampshire, USA) and the Muhimbili University College of Health Sciences (MUCHS), Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The study is designed to reduce morbidity and mortality from HIV-associated tuberculosis. The word DARDAR follows the Swahili language practice of repeated syllables (e.g. Tingatinga) and is meant to suggest the Swahili word "dada" or "sister" to emphasize the relationship between the two institutions. | |
