The Goal:
To prepare medical students as leaders in providing medical care to rural and underserved populations.

The Program:

Participate in monthly seminars:
To introduce students to local leaders in rural health care and their work.
To help students acquire more knowledge and understanding of rural medicine.
To explore and develop students' interests and futures in rural medicine.
To create connections between interested Dartmouth Medical School students, DMS faculty and community practitioners active in providing rural health care.
Attend the annual meetings of the Dartmouth COOP Project and the National Rural Health Association (or other Rural Health related meetings).
Design and complete a community project, which may be a part of your Longitudinal Clinical Experience or clerkship.
Participate in field visits to rural practitioners.
