CECS Homepage: http://www.dartmouth.edu/~cecs
The pre and post doctoral programs are designed for those who wish to pursue academic careers, with the overall aim to train individuals who will contribute meaningfully to health services research and/or health policy, with a particular emphasis in effectiveness research. Under the leadership of Ann Flood, Ph.D., this program builds on the extensive ongoing research programs of the Dartmouth faculty and the existing graduate program in the evaluative clinical sciences. Pre-doctoral students design a program of study and research concentrating in medical care epidemiology, health policy, health behavior, or continual improvement of health care. Post-doctoral students work closely with a faculty mentor with an emphasis on participation in ongoing research projects. They also complete an individualized program of course work; its content determined by the trainee's background. Other features include:
- In depth experience in the conduct of research and teaching of the ECS
- Each student working closely with a mentor
- Growing number of applicants
- Successful placement of first graduate
- Receipt of NRSA grants
