Fireside Chats
The Fireside Chat program is a collaborative effort between the offices of Student Affairs and Alumni Relations generally led by the Dartmouth Medical School Program Director of the Women in Medicine Program, Susan Pepin, MD.
An alumni or faculty member is invited to do a very informal talk about his or her career path and specialty, followed by an open discussion with our students. Our guest literally sits in a comfortable chair surrounded by the audience—and
weather and setting permitting, there is a roaring fire blazing to add to the atmosphere and conversation of the evening.
The talks are open to all our students as well as to alumni and faculty. Now in their fourth year, the Fireside Chats have been very well attended and appreciated by our students.

"The Fireside Chats allow our students to meet and hear from DMS alumni and faculty. By sharing experiences and different pathways our speakers have taken, we broaden our own scope of possibilities and gain confidence in making choices. These events are also wonderful ways to make connections and foster mentoring on many levels."
