DMS Mentoring and Advising Program

Please consider joining your former classmates in supporting today's DMS medical students by offering the benefit of your wisdom and experience through the DMS Mentoring and Advising Program! The feedback so far from both alumni and students has been fantastic and many matches are already underway.

Our goal is to create a large pool of DMS alumni from different regions and with varying specialties, which the Alumni Relations Office can use to match students. A student will contact you once the Office of Alumni Relations makes the match.

Participating in the program is simple. Here's how it works:

• The DMS Office of Alumni Relations provides interested students with contact information so they can get in touch with an appropriate alumnus/ae (YOU!). Then, through phone calls, e-mails or personal visits, the student begins a dialogue with his or her mentor/advisor.
  
  
• Students receive support and guidance from alumni about a number of different topics including surviving medical school, selecting specialties and geographic locations, and juggling career and family.
  
  
• You receive the benefit of knowing you've assisted a young physician, scientist or physician/scientist in finding his or her way in this challenging and rewarding career. It's also a great way to remain involved with Dartmouth Medical School.

The Dartmouth Medical School Mentoring and Advising Program is sponsored by the DMS Alumni Council and creates an opportunity for alumni to act as mentors to current DMS students. We welcome your participation or questions!
